Prague has a temperate continental climate: that is, in summer the temperature can be relatively warm, but in winter it often drops below freezing and snowfall is very frequent. The cold weather in these parts is mostly dry, so it is more bearable than elsewhere.
Seasons
The climate in Prague, as in the rest of the world, does not obey human patterns-that much is certain. In principle, however, we know that at certain times of the year cities are more or less livable.
To this parameter we must add another: the flow of tourists. Going to a city like Prague when the number of tourists is low means enjoying the trip more, not wasting too much time in the queue, not moving through the crowds.
Spring and summer

In spring, the weather is pleasant and, during Easter, the city is festively decorated. During this time there are many themed markets. Chefs and artisans set up booths in the streets, and there is no shortage of street performers. Many events are scheduled: from fairs to music days to motor competitions.
In summer there are many more tourists, temperatures are higher, and it doesn’t get dark until 10 p.m. Despite frequent summer downpours, street life is teeming. In fact, fairs, exhibitions, events, circus, theater and music take center stage.
Fall and winter

These seasons are usually less characterized by tourist flow. In autumn, the weather is still mild and the city is colored yellow and red by the falling leaves. The old town is flooded with illuminations, and fairs and indoor festivals are held here and there.
In winter, the first snowfalls make Prague a picture-postcard city. Between decorations, markets, Christmas carols and religious processions the spectacle is guaranteed. Heavy coats, scarves, gloves and hats should never be missing from your suitcase. Beware of heels: frosts in these latitudes are frequent and walking on stilts in such cases is not exactly the best.
Tips
A good tip, once we get past the“book your vacation” step, is to link to a reliable weather forecasting site that will give us more precise indications of what to pack. Generally speaking, at least as far as Prague and the long-term reliability of weather forecasts are concerned, we recommend visiting international portals.
